Daily writing prompt
Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

It is the end of the school day so the first thing that comes to mind is, how long till I can take a nap. Teaching and coaching are mentally and physically quite demanding. Today was a particularly exhausting day.

We are on testing block schedule, so our classes are 90 minutes+ today. We did an “escape room breakout” with the kids groups of four in the library. I probably answered on the low side 857 questions between the two classes after working out and getting three surly teenagers up and driving them to school.

After Lunch

Golden Valley High School Track Meet

After lunch, we had our intramural soccer tournament. The weather was fantastic, right around 78 degrees with a nice breeze. The boys were fired up to play. Competition was fierce. I talked at length with the head coach about his plans for next year and which players are going to be “his guys”. We should have a pretty loaded team so that is exciting, but also exhausting from being on my feet for two hours, which due to my plantar fasciitis, can be somewhat unpleasant.

It’s All About Powernaps

So, yes, I am ready for a powernap, not a super-long nap, just like 20 minutes, let me nerves calm down, let mind rest for a bit and just vibe, preferably with a cat making biscuits on me.
