What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?
The most money I ever spent on a meal was taking family and friends to. Red Lobster. It was a party of eight and we ended up spending close to $400. I would say it was worth it. It is definitely a once in a while type of thing, but it was nice to have that moment together. I worked at several Red Lobster’s when I was in college, one in Salinas, and two in the North County Sand Diego region. It was a great job for a introverted college kid, although sometimes the burnout was very real.
Going back to Red Lobster with my family serves as a reminder of the sacrifices I made, the work I put in, to get to where I am now, but also brings back fond memories of the “good old days”. I made many friends there, had some great mentors, and learned a lot about the business world. When I had things under control in my station, I enjoyed talking to the guests and they often game me great advice about life, or just taught me interesting ways to interact with people.
Obviously the food is delicious, including the cheddar bay biscuits of course (dip them in a warm cup of clam chowder, you can thank me later), but it holds a lot sentimental value to me, making the money spent well worth it.
Gotta run off to work and educate the next generation, so that is about it for now! Check out some of my other recent articles if you have a moment! Wishing you the best of days and keep writing!
