My girlfriend and I flew up to Seattle for a weekend trip to celebrate Valentine’s Day and our anniversary. We opted to take the linklight train instead of rent a car, which was a good decision.

After checking in at The Arctic Club hotel, we went to a couple of really awesome bars, The Owl and Thistle and The Central. We saw a total of four bands, not bad for us middle aged folks. We didn’t get back to our hotel until 12:15 (I know we are crazy rebels).

The Central was one of the hotspots of the 90’s “Grunge” rock movement. Pictures of Kurt Cobaine, Chris Cornell, Lane Staley as well as Courtney Llve adorned the walls as tributes.

We had some amazing food as well. Our forst stop was a Vietnames Cafe with amazing pho and spring rolls. Dinner was at The Owl and Thistle, fresh cod fish and chips as well as fish tacos, absolutely delicious.

Today has been spent exploring the Pike Place Fish Market, which has lived up to the hype I have heard about it. We had fresh Poke with salmon and samples of various other food in the market. A protest to “Free Palestine” was taking place outside the market.

Now it is off to the aquarium for some communing with some sea life!
