If I had three magic genie wishes, I would wish for world peace, a chance to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and for each of my students to be successful in life.

Wish #1 – World Peace

The conflicts we have in this century are absolutely terrifying. Before World War I, wars were fought primarily on battlefields, had a certain scope of damage, but never threatened to destroy the entire world. Nowadays, the weapons the public knows about could easily do this, not to mention the ones we don’t know about. World peace is badly needed, but we are spinning out of control at the moment.

Wish #2 – Dodger for a Day

I always have been a huge Dodger fan. If I could have just one game playing with the Dodgers, that would make my life complete! There is a baseball camp they have at Spring Training and another at the stadium where fans can play as Dodgers against each other, be coached by former Dodger greats, and most importantly play in the stadiums. It is quite expensive, but YOLO, right?

Wish #3 – Student Success

I spend a lot of my time and energy helping young people. Most of them end up being successful, at the bare minimum functional members of society, but some don’t. We had a former student commit suicide last year by stepping in front of a train. It is absolutely devastating to our school community when these things happen. I hear about students who turn to drugs or make other bad life choices. I would like nothing better than to see them all succeed.

    1. That would be the ultimate man! Play fir your favorite team!

  2. Good post âś…đź’Żđź«‚

  3. If I had to make just one, I guess maybe that nobody ever had to feel unloved again? Maybe more love around the world might fix some of the other problems we have? Food for thought! 🙂

  4. I guess if I could make just one wish, it would be that everyone in the world felt unconditionally loved by at least one person! Maybe that would fix some other problems out there, who knows?

  5. Nice blog! What to you teach and what age group? Your third wish should move up to the top and help the first happen thereby !

  6. In High School , senior year, I thought I wanted to be a teacher too. and even visited a teachers college but I had no funds and there was this thing called “The draft”..
I did get my college thanks to the USAF, but pivioted into business when my 4 years was up. However , Late in life I did teach some Adult Ed classes at Durham Tech – so at least I had a taste of my original dream of teaching !
